Meeting Tenant Expectations in a Modern Development
With a growing number of electric vehicle owners looking to rent in the area, JP McGuire needed to ensure that tenants would have easy access to EV charging from day one. The brief was clear:
- Install 12 EV charge points
- Restrict access to residents only
- Allow the developer to recover energy usage costs
The installation needed to match the quality and finish of the overall development, while being flexible enough to accommodate future demand.
Balancing Power and Performance on a Busy Site
The biggest technical challenge from Voltari’s side was load management. With 12 charge points operating from a shared supply, it was crucial to specify hardware that could intelligently balance demand across the installation while staying on schedule with the broader site works.
A Smart, Scalable EV Charging Solution
After careful consideration, Voltari recommended and installed the 22kW Easee charge point, chosen for its built-in dynamic load balancing, clean design, and ability to scale with demand. To ensure residents-only access and allow JP McGuire to recoup energy costs, we integrated the Clenergy platform for usage monitoring and billing.
The entire installation was completed on time between March and April 2025, providing a seamless handover for the developer and peace of mind for incoming tenants.
A Clear Example of EV Infrastructure Done Right
This project showcases Voltari’s commitment to practical, well-specified charging solutions that meet the real-world needs of developers and residents alike. From dynamic load balancing to closed-network user access, we’ve created a system that supports JP McGuire’s long-term vision while offering a real benefit to tenants. Residents can charge their vehicles at home for up to half the cost of public charging – a valuable, convenient amenity that enhances the appeal of the property from day one.
